LinkedIn Introduces AI-Powered Campaign Tools

—

LinkedIn has rolled out its most significant advertising upgrade in years — and most marketers are still running campaigns the old way.

LinkedIn's AI-powered campaign tool, Accelerate, is now available to advertisers globally after an extended testing phase that began in late 2023. The premise is straightforward: a marketer provides a product URL, and LinkedIn's AI analyses the website, the company's LinkedIn Page, and historical ad account data to build a complete end-to-end campaign — audience targeting, creative assets, bidding strategy, and placement optimisation — in as little as five minutes. What previously took a marketing team 15 hours to build can now be ready to launch in the time it takes to have a coffee. For B2B marketers running campaigns on the platform, this is not a minor update. It is a fundamental shift in how LinkedIn advertising works.

The performance data coming out of Accelerate's rollout is difficult to ignore, and it signals a broader change in what effective B2B advertising looks like on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn reports that Accelerate campaigns are delivering 52% lower cost per action compared to classic manually managed campaigns. Its AI-powered Automated Placement feature, which dynamically places ads in front of the most relevant users, has produced a 47% improvement in cost-per-conversion for brands using it. Predictive Audiences — LinkedIn's AI-driven version of lookalike targeting — has improved average cost-per-lead by 21%. These are not incremental gains. They represent the kind of performance difference that changes how budgets get allocated. The underlying reason is that LinkedIn's AI is trained on first-party professional data — verified job titles, company sizes, industries, seniority levels — that no other advertising platform can match. When that data powers the targeting and optimisation decisions, the results reflect it.
Beyond the numbers, Campaign Manager itself has received significant upgrades that are quietly reshaping how marketers plan and measure B2B campaigns. Marketers can now forecast reach and impressions before launching campaigns, duplicate high-performing ads, use dynamic UTMs, and access AI-powered performance insights — all within the native platform. LinkedIn has also expanded Accelerate's supported formats to include video and document ads alongside single-image creative, and new campaign objectives including brand awareness, engagement, website conversions, and video views are being rolled out. At the same time, LinkedIn's upgraded Conversions API now enables more reliable server-side tracking and better attribution beyond cookies — a critical development as third-party data tracking continues to erode across the industry.

LinkedIn's Accelerate campaigns are not just a faster way to set up ads. They represent a structural shift toward AI-managed B2B advertising — where the platform's verified professional data does the targeting work that used to require weeks of manual optimisation.
The implications for B2B marketers go beyond campaign setup speed. LinkedIn now has over 1.3 billion members, and the platform's engagement metrics are climbing — comments increased 37% year-over-year, and video watch time has grown 36% annually. Hyper-targeted campaigns on the platform have seen a 69% boost in effectiveness as AI-driven feed recommendations have become more sophisticated. The professional context of LinkedIn also means that the users seeing ads are, by definition, in a professional mindset — which consistently produces better conversion quality for B2B offers compared to other social platforms. With LinkedIn's AI now handling the heavy lifting of audience selection and bid management, the strategic advantage shifts toward brands that invest in high-quality creative and compelling offers, rather than those with the most experienced media buyers.
For brands not yet using LinkedIn as a serious paid channel, the barrier to entry has never been lower — and the performance ceiling has never been higher. But getting the most out of Accelerate and LinkedIn's evolving ad ecosystem still requires strategic direction: knowing which objectives to optimise for, how to structure creative that resonates with professional audiences, and how to connect LinkedIn ad performance to real pipeline and revenue outcomes. At MSGlobal Digital, we manage LinkedIn advertising strategies for clients across B2B, SaaS, professional services, and e-commerce — combining LinkedIn's AI-powered tools with the creative and strategic expertise to make them perform.
